Write for us
We welcome clear, original contributions that help readers make sense of choosing, planning or attending live music. A strong proposal has a defined reader question and a useful answer that does not depend on specialist access.
What we welcome
Ideas might explain a concert-going custom, compare two ways of approaching a performance, clarify programme language or offer a thoughtful plan for a particular kind of outing. We favour evergreen pieces grounded in careful explanation over event promotion, unsupported claims or broad essays without a clear reader takeaway.
What to include in a pitch
Tell us the working title, the central question, the main point you would make and why it would interest our readers. Note any relevant sources or potential conflicts of interest, and be clear about what the piece can and cannot establish. Please send a proposal rather than a completed article unless we have agreed otherwise.
How to send it
Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. We consider each idea for fit, clarity and usefulness; sending a pitch does not guarantee publication.
A concert starts before the first note.
Choosing what to hear and finding your bearings in a room can shape the whole night. We focus on small, useful details that leave more space for the music.
